Paul Norcross: The Dude Abides With Me: German Philosophy, Films and Football Fandom

November’s sporting lunchtime lecture nearly turned into an outside broadcast, such was the enthusiasm of speaker Paul Norcross, who at one point ended up in the street.

North Parade’s favourite philosopher gave a wide-ranging talk entitled: The Dude Abides With Me: German Philosophy, Films and Football Fandom.

It was a tour de force, or perhaps that should be a Glanzleistung, of goodness knows what. We didn’t know, we’re not sure he knew, where it will took us … apart from into the street. It was all the stuff Paul forgot about, or has since thought about, in the wake of his barnstorming talk in late 2024.
